Before working as a Doula, I was a Social Service Worker, assisting people with special needs and children. I’ve also enjoyed working with the elderly in a retirement setting and supporting at risk youth. It was through these experiences I learned the importance of being non-judgmental and how much I loved to help others. This work has all enabled me to make a difference in the world by support people through some of their biggest challenges in life.
Since completing my birth Doula training, I’ve expanded my practice to complete other certifications. Although we wish for the best outcome, pregnancy and birth doesn’t always go as expected and I was compelled to train as a Stillbirth and Bereavement Doula so I could support and prepare families in situations such as these. I am a certified Hypnobirthing Practitioner, which has enabled me to teach my clients how the power of our mind can bring a calming experience during birth. I continued my training by becoming an Attached at the Heart Parent Educator, and an Infant Sleep Educator. I completed my Postpartum Doula certification in order to support parents through the changes and challenges of having a newborn. I am also certified as a Fertility Support Practitioner, helping those who are struggling or those who are looking for an effective natural birth control method. I look forward to meeting new families and giving them the options and information that will aid new parents in making more comfortable decisions and growing their families. |
Meet Sarah Langridge |
Sarah is a Postpartum Doula, a certified Birth Doula with DONA International and has been attending births since 2002. After the traumatic birth delivery of her first child, with the incredible support of her own doula, she decided that doulaing was exactly what she wanted to do with her life and help other women be ushered into motherhood. While four weeks freshly postpartum, Sarah supported her sister-in-laws' birth with her third baby, with her own daughter strapped to her chest. She is a great mom of two, whose passion for healthy, happy babies exudes through her work as a doula with families and new mamas. She completed her Stillbirth training in 2016 and is a DNA Artist who specializes in breastmilk and cremain jewelry. |
