Meet your Fresh Bloom Doula, Taryn.

Taryn Patton is a fertility support practitioner, a certified birth and postnatal Doula, a certified infant sleep educator, a certified Attachment Parent Educator and most importantly, a mother of three.

Taryn's Experience

I am passionate about my work and empowering families, but my biggest passion is for parenting and learning new tools to raise healthy children. With a kind, calming presence, I am extremely determined when it comes to my work and passions.

During pregnancy, I had a prenatal class with a Doula. At the time I had no idea what a Doula was, but she helped me discover ways to cope with labour and taught me about my options. It wasn't until after I had my son that my passion started to grow for birth and babies. A couple months after, I began birth Doula training classes and I saw a wonderful opportunity in a profession I loved. Through my certification, I was assured that this was my path and I was destined to help other families.

Before working as a Doula, I was a Social Service Worker, assisting people with special needs and children. I’ve also enjoyed working with the elderly in a retirement setting and supporting at risk youth. It was through these experiences I learned the importance of being non-judgmental and how much I loved to help others. This work has all enabled me to make a difference in the world by support people through some of their biggest challenges in life.

Since completing my birth Doula training, I’ve expanded my practice to complete other certifications. Although we wish for the best outcome, pregnancy and birth doesn’t always go as expected and I was compelled to train as a Stillbirth and Bereavement Doula so I could support and prepare families in situations such as these. I am a certified Hypnobirthing Practitioner, which has enabled me to teach my clients how the power of our mind can bring a calming experience during birth. I continued my training by becoming an Attached at the Heart Parent Educator, and an Infant Sleep Educator. I completed my Postpartum Doula certification in order to support parents through the changes and challenges of having a newborn and I am also certifying as a Fertility support practitioner.

I look forward to meeting new families and giving them the options and information that will aid new parents in making more comfortable decisions and growing their families.
